Danish art deco disco metal table lamp by Just Andersen AS in the 1930s. The table lamp is made of Disco metal, an alloy of lead and antimony, an invention of Andersen's named after Disko Bay in Greenland, where he grew up. The table lamp is in good vintage condition and marked by Just. A. Just Andersen 1884-1943 was born in Godhavn on the island of Disko, located in western Greenland. His parents were inspectors and probate managers in North Greenland. Just Andersen's creative gene was obviously stimulated and developed during his childhood.
